Money in Tangier: dirhams, cards and tipping
How to pay and how much to leave.
The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD). It is a closed currency, so most visitors change money or use a cash machine on arrival.
Cards work in hotels, larger restaurants and shops. Taxis, cafés and markets are mostly cash.
Tipping is customary: small change in cafés, a little more in restaurants and for drivers and guides.
