The mint tea ritual
Why tea is poured from high and what to expect when you are invited.
Mint tea is green tea brewed with fresh mint and sugar. It is poured from high above the glass to mix it and raise a light foam.
It is offered as a sign of welcome in homes and shops. Accepting a glass is polite, and you can ask for less sugar.
Take it slowly. Tea here is a pause in the day.
